Millstream-Chichester NP 20/08

Had to get up early to do the wetland walk to Jirndawurrinha Pools as ranger advised will be closing the walk today for a couple of days for tree cutting.

So left at 7am before brekky, lucky fairly easy walk.

The stream is spring fed, fast flowing & surprisingly warm.

Jirndawurrinha pools is crystal creek, can see fish swimming around & lillies growing under the water.

After the walk we visited the original cottage built in 1865

Found some stuart desert pea flowers around the cottage.

Then had a look at the homestead build in 1919.

Which was also a tavern in 1975 to 1986.

Another very windy day up to 32km winds, so Adam pegged everything down that he could. Had breakfast, then went for a 30km scenic drive along Snappy Gum Dr.

Stopped in at deep reach pool, which is part of the Fortescue River. Due to the wind, too cold for swimming.

Then checked out Cliff Top lookout.

Which overlooked Fortescue River.

April & William showed as the bridge they built over the stream behind our campsite.
