Cape Keraudren 9/8

Left 80 Mile beach at 8:40am.

Only travelled 120km to Cape Keraudren, looked at a couple of camp sites and finally setup at 11am at cootenbrand creek campsite.

This little guy was at the entrance of cape Keraudren.

The water in the creek was a really nice aqua colour, kids didn’t go swimming and it was too cold & we saw lots of Borlgas birds ( Australian cranes)

Kids found this shells everywhere along the creek & beach.

Again the beach was lined with fisherman. ( we are at the end of 80 mile beach)

It did have beautiful red rock formations the other end.

Eighty Mile beach 8/8

Left Barn Hill nice and early at 8:30

Travelled 256km nothing at all to see long the way, we arrived at Eighty Mile beach at 11:30am.

Set up, had lunch then went for a walk along the beach, not really able to swim here due to every one fishing along the shoreline.

So the kids collected shell instead.

Had a relaxing afternoon reading & passing the footy around.

Kids made a friend on a six week hoilday from Germany.

Another beautiful sunset to end the day.

Barn Hill 6 & 7 Aug

6/8

Didn’t leave broome until 2pm as had issues with the trailer brakes went back to ARB to have them fixed ( we took the trailer there yesterday to have the wheel bearing done and the trailer brakes worked fine)

Arrived at Barn Hill at 4:30 travelled 130km, setup and then watched the sunset over the beach.

William super happy as found a fishing rod along the beach all covered in seaweed, no one claimed it so it’s his.

7/8

Went down to the beach for a couple of hours swimming, kids playing in the sand and exploring the rocks.

Kids also loved the playground.

Watched another sunset then had hamburgers for dinner.

Hanging out with Shannon & Jane.

3/8

Went for a 4wd to the broome bird Observatory that is on the other side of Roebuck bay with Shannon & Jane.

Nice drive in Mud and along the beach.

At the bird Observatory the Kids where given some binoculars & they went looking for shorebirds.

Stopped in at one of the beaches for lunch at Roebuck bay.

And the kids found some catfish stuck in a pool of water that didn’t make it out in low tide.

Jane & Shannon very nicely took the kids out to dinner and then to the outdoor cinema and watched the lion King.

Thanks Guys, so we had a date night ( don’t remember last time we went out without the kids😀) & found a nice Mexican restaurant called lockout bar & grill.

4/8

Shannon took Adam & William out on his & Jane’s boat for a couple of hrs unfortunately they didn’t catch anything & had to cut their trip short as William not feeling the best.

While the boys where out, the girls went to the courthouse markets, not much there so went for a walk down main street, checked out the lookout over Roebuck bay.

Then checked out the old pearl lugger Behind one of the many pearl shops.

Then walked along street Jetty which was built back in 1890 and was about 1km long

5/8

Got up nice and early and headed out to Gantheaume point to check out the dinosaur footprints, that u can only see at low tide.

Love the red rock formations and the ocean in the background.

Then we went for a drive along famous Cable beach, 22km long Nd another camel train.

Jane works for the royal flying doctors service and very kindly gave as a personal tour of the RFDS plane and explained to the kids what it’s like to be a nurse in the air.

Thanks Jane 😊

Back to Broome 1/8

Sadly packed up and left smithy campsite at 8:40

Kids said there goodbye to Dumbo & there new friends they made yesterday.

Stopped in to beagle bay & checked out the local church built in 1920, it took them over a year to complete the decorations of seashells within the church.

Arrived at broome discovery park at 12:30 which is next to town beach.

We have a lovely view of the beach.

Caught up with Adam’s cousin Shannon & Jane. They have just moved to broome.

They are currently staying at the resort the Oaks, kids where happy that they where able to use there pool.

Chillax day 30/7

By April – had a big feast for breakfast, fruity bites cereal, then had a bacon & egg sandwich followed by chocolate Milk drink.

Kids did there school work in the morning.

Then we watched a Mantaray swimming in the ocean, Adam went in for a closer look, but every time Adam got near it, it disappeared.

We went for a drive to the other side of the bay, very soft sand & nearly got bogged ( lucky we didn’t)

Kids found a dried up fish on the sand.

Not able to really swim on this side as lots of large boulders in the water and on the beach.

More beautiful red cliffs.

Kids have made friends with the local dog in the park, we don’t know it’s real name but the kids have named it dumbo ( as has really big ears)

Then the girls & I went for a swim in the ocean as really low tide we could walk out for over a km & still the water was no higher then my shoulders.

Cape Leveque 29/7

Headed off early this morning to go up to the top, took us 1.5 hrs first we went to cygnet bay pearl farm, had a look at the gallery unfortunately adam didn’t buy me any Pearl’s, then headed down to cygnet bay where the water is crystal clear.

Had any early lunch and the kids swam in the infinity pool

Kids liked the boat with wheels.

Then headed into one arm point aboriginal community, didn’t go in as charged $17 pp just to have a look around town and swim at their beach.

So headed off to Cape levesque, Kooljamin aboriginal community. Only charges $20 per vehicle.

Went to the western beach first unable to swim here due to the strong currents, but beautiful red cliffs along the beach. The kids had fun climbing up the cliffs.

Then headed off to the eastern beach, which had beautiful white sand and crystal clear water.

We went for a drive along the beach as far as we could until we come to a river that ran into the sea.

This will be the highest point we can go in WA

Kids thought this was a seaeagles nest, so Adam went for a closer look turned out to be a upside down tree.

Stopped at a nice spot along the beach no one else around and went snorkeling for a couple of hours & the kids played in the sand.

Middle Lagoon 28/7

We drove along the beach at Smithy’s, to the end of the bay, kids loved the rock formation as one looked like a castle.

The boys went fishing and Adam caught himself a fish (longtom).

We did catch & released as the locals gave as two big fillets of macrel that they caught last night.

Then we headed off to middle lagoon.

Had a look around at the camping area and went for a swim at lagoon bay.

We headed around to the next bay, which required a little bit of 4wd to get there.

The kids had fun exploring holes, caves & crackes as the cliff had started to come away from the edge.

Picture of the shells the girls had collected at the bay

Another sunset to finish our day from our campsite
