3 days of travel 21, 22 & 23 July along the Great Northern Hwy

Left Timber Ridge at 9:20

Crossed over boarder to WA which had a quartine point, we only remembered about it the day before so we hid all our fruit & veges in the trailer. Still lost some onions & firewood.

Arrived at Warum roadhouse at 3pm or 1:30 WA time.

First day this trip didn’t take any photo

Very small camping area, kids & Adam happy that it had a pool.

Left Warum the next day at 8am, drove to Mary pools rest area sadly no water in the river and as only 11am keep on going to the next rest area Ngumban Cliff rest area 100km away arrived here at midday and setup.

Beautiful sunset

Left rest area at 8am and drove 300km to Fitzroy river campsite ( local from broome that we met in Darwin told us about this place. ) and had to 4wd in first test for the new camper trailer and it passed

Arrived here at midday , beauiful spot and setup. Very hot & unable to swim in the river due to crocs. we did see a couple of small crocs only about 1 – 2 m long.

And hundreds and thousands of cockatoos.

Timber creek 20/7

We down to the Hot springs early in the morning before we packed up.

Headed off at 9:30am, arrived into Katherine at midday, restocked and had lunch here, then travelled another 285km to Timber Creek.

Did get stopped on the Hwy to let all the Cattle cross.

Arrived at Timber Creek at 4pm, as soo Hot we all jumped in the pool to cool down, then setup.

Went down to the river to watch the crocodiles been feed & William got to have a go with feeding one of the crocs.

Then the kids threw chucks of meat in the air to feed the brown Kites and Hawks

Temp – 15°-35°

Dinner – Salmon mashed potatoes & veges

Butterfly Gorge 19/7

Got up nice and early and relaxed in the hot springs before the heat of day.

Awesome watching the steam coming off the water.

Had bacon and eggs for breakfast, then headed off to Butterfly gorge only a 20km drive via dirt road.

Only a 2km walk & swim to the gorge.

Didn’t see any butterflies, but Adam & Jasmine had fun jumping off the rocks.

After Lunch went back to Douglas hot springs and the kids found a treeswing.

Then we cooked up some sausage for dinner while William and his new mate Logan caught lizards.

Litchfield National Park 17/7

Went over to Wangi Falls and spend the day there.

We did the Wangi Loop walk 1.7km long which took you over the top of the waterfall.

Then went for a swim at the falls, brought hot chips for Lunch and the Kids shared a Milkshake.

Then in the afternoon we went back to Florence Fall for a swim, Adam & Jasmine climbed up the rocks near the waterfall and jumped off.

Got the fire going so we could cook dinner, Lambchops, rice & roast potato.

Had a bushmouse visit our campsite

Finally Traveling again 16/7

Finally brought a camper on the 11/7

We got a Black Series Delta softfloor 2015

Had issues with our fridge fitting into the slide so took it to a medal fabricator to get the slide adjusted as only mm to height & to wide, fridge now fits unfortunately unable to close slide into the camper trailer as plug sticks out, Adam spend the whole day hardwiring the fridge and having the lead comes out the over side.

Also Adam added the bench from our old camper trailer onto our new one

Organized to get electric breaks added onto the Landcruiser & went through all the hoops to get the trailer registered into our name ( apparently we now live at the freespirt caravan park)

Left Darwin today at 10:45am as our first time packing up was a bit slower then normal and arrived at Litchfield National Park and staying at Florence Fall old 4wd campsite ( as now tar all the way to the campsite) at 12:45pm

Went for a swim at Florence Falls, crystal clear water, nice and refreshing.

Had jatz and chesse afterward and played card games with the kids

Dinner – Hamburgers

Still in Darwin 4/7

Took the kids to the military museum today to learn about the darwin bombing & WW11

Then had Lunch at Dudley point

Nice to look at the water unfortunately unable to swim in the beach due to saltwater crocodiles.

Recieved call from Insurance company they advised that the Camper Trailer as been assessed and is been written off and should receive a call tomorrow from the claims department.

Then off to the free water park at Leanyer.

Spend a couple of hours here, then went to the Mindil Market for dinner and watched the sunset over the beach.

Absolutely beautiful

Kids enjoyed a slushy to end the day

Darwin 3/7

Still haven’t had any update from the insurance company and still not able to find any camper trailer that suit our needs ( no dealers that sell camper trailer in Darwin or broome or anywhere in between)

Happy the caravan park is nice enough to store all our stuff out of our campertrailer in there shed until we get a new trailer. Didn’t realize how much stuff we had.

Took kids to the Palmerston free waterpark
